The Kids Around the Clock children’s nursery at Benchill is a wholly purpose-built building with amazing character and a huge amount of space!

We run an Afterschool Club on Monday to Friday until 7pm. We can also arrange pick up from local schools in the area between the hours of 7am to 7pm.

Meet The Manager

Hello my name is Sue and I am a manager at Kids Around the Clock Brookfield Gardens.

I began my journey into childcare at the tender age of 16 when I started my college course and 2 years later gained my NNEB qualification. Firstly I started work in a school nursery on an RAF base and when I had my two children, Laura and Ryan, I took a position running the crèche and toddler groups on the base.

After 7 years I returned to Manchester where I started work at Benchill Children‘s Centre in the Sure Start Crèche as a nursery nurse full time as my children were growing up. Unfortunately the City Council made the decision to close all children’s centres and in 2011 I joined Kids Around the Clock.

My career progressed quickly becoming baby room leader, deputy manager and then manager of our then Woodhouse Park site, we moved to Brookfield Gardens and I couldn’t be happier in my role. I completed a university course to gain my level 5 in Early Years at the age of 48 so proving your never too old to progress in educating yourself. I am the settings SENCO and am currently completing the EY SENCO award. I love the parent partnerships and watching our children grow and progress in their development during their time with us.

In my spare time I love to spend time with family and friends, watching documentaries on Netflix, having a meal out with my husband, Steve, and cuddles with our dog Penny.

Hello, my name is Jade and I am a manager at Kids Around the Clock, Brookfield Gardens.

I began my passion for childcare very early as I grew up having a large young family around me with a younger brother and many younger cousins who I loved to care for.

Once I left school, I went to college and completed my level 3 in Early Years education. This is where my career began to grow; as soon as I left college, I got my first Childcare job with Kids Around the Clock. Initially, I was only working two days a week but I loved it that much, after a week, I went to full time!!

Since starting my career with Kids Around the Clock in 2012, I have been able to grow and develop so much within the company, I have been able to work in all rooms. I first started off in pre school and once my skills and leadership grew, I became the room leader in the 2-year-old room.

I have always had a passion working in the baby room and love to be able to see all the babies develop so quickly and in such a short period of time, I have completed numerous training for babies and once we moved to Woodhouse Park, I became the room leader for our baby room; I was so nervous at first but I knew this was my passion and this is where my skill set would be utilised the most.

I love having a strong parent partnership and the amount of trust the parents have whilst building a strong foundation for the babies.

On the weekends and in my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I have two little girls, my first was born in 2018 and my second in 2022! I grew up in Stockport and eventually bought my own house in 2016 where I moved in with my partner, Chris of 13 years.

I am a massive foodie and Italian cuisine is my favourite!! I enjoy cosy film nights in with friends and love watching documentaries in my spare time.
