KATC and QA – Working Relationship

KATC have worked with Manchester’s Quality Assurance Team for many years, in Wythenshawe our Outstanding nurseries have both received the Gold award two years running for quality.

It is important to KATC to constantly reflect on practice to make sure that we are offering the very best service possible, our Quality Assurance officer Gill keeps in contact to make sure we are running smoothly, she will visit occasionally throughout the year and observe practice, routine, teaching and learning throughout the setting, Gill will then feedback on what works well and what if anything we can do to improve practice and outcomes for our children.

Quality Assurance put together termly Development Forums, which our management team attend to make sure that we are up to date with all the latest Local Authority knowledge and take onboard any tips to continuously improve our already outstanding practice to maintain a high quality of care and education at all times.

The Quality Assurance Framework can be found on Manchester City Councils website, this document is useful to self-evaluate as it is broken down into easily understood sections and gives examples of documents and practice that will support you to achieve each section.

Ofsted will ask whether you are a part of the Quality Assurance scheme and in Manchester, to offer the Funded Entitlement from the Government you must be working with Quality Assurance.

If you are Good and Outstanding the visits a less frequent than those who are below good, this means that the QA team can focus on supporting those settings who need it most.

KATC are proud to be working with the Quality Assurance Team and always welcome them in to view the setting and observe the team as it is also good practice for Ofsted and keeps practitioners and Management calm and confident.
